With nearly two decades of experience as a personal trainer and group training coach, Kelley’s dedication to helping others achieve their fitness goals is unparalleled. As a mother of six and devoted wife to Pete Rubish, she understands the importance of balance and leading by example in living a healthy, fulfilling life. Pete Rubish

Co-Owner/Online Coach

Pete is a competitive 242-pound powerlifter with best lifts of 772 pounds on squat, 485 pounds on bench, and 920 pounds on deadlift. For the last eleven years, he has been coaching and training lifters. His passion is helping others get stronger and pursue their true potential, all while living as healthy as possible. Pete has ran a 1:38 half marathon and is currently training for the Bighorn 100 Mile Run. Pete and his wife own Koa Strength and Fitness in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Sarah’s fitness journey began in 2019, sparking a newfound passion and sense of purpose. From struggling with motivation as a former competitor, she discovered strength and confidence through group strength training and powerlifting. Now, Sarah’s all about helping others succeed at Koa, where she’s dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives. Off the clock, you’ll find her coaching basketball, nurturing young athletes to reach their full potential. Whether you’re looking to reignite your motivation, improve athleticism, or simply live life to the fullest, Sarah is here for you! 

Grant Hughett

Grant Hughett

Personal Trainer

Grant loves helping people crush their fitness goals. He focuses on fixing posture and muscle imbalances, making sure clients use proper form to avoid injuries and see real results. With over 20 years of experience and a degree from the University of Tennessee, Grant designs personalized plans that mix workouts, nutrition, and mental wellness.

When he’s not training, Grant coaches youth sports and teams up with local community groups. Born and raised in Knoxville, he enjoys hanging out with his family, friends, pets, and plants.

Hannah Peck

Personal Trainer

Hannah is passionate about helping people, especially those new to fitness and lifting. Her own journey includes overcoming the challenges of PCOS and discovering the empowering world of strength training. Competing in powerlifting has transformed her outlook on her body’s capabilities and she loves sharing this perspective with others. Whether you’re just starting out or seeking to refine your technique, Hannah is dedicated to guiding you every step of the way. 

Madison Scarbrough

Madison Scarbrough

Meet Madison! She has been training at Koa for four years and powerlifting for three. Before discovering powerlifting, she practiced martial arts for several years but sought a new challenge after her school closed during COVID. Madison fell in love with the strength she gained through lifting and noticed how her body transformed, even without significant weight loss. She now prioritizes health and strength over being skinny, which has brought her greater happiness. Her goal is to maintain her fitness throughout life so she can keep enjoying the activities she loves, like skydiving!

Meet Jessica, the epitome of sweetness and care in our gym’s childcare room. As a proud mom to one adorable little one and the daughter of one of our esteemed members, Jessica brings a special touch of warmth and familiarity to our gym family.

With her nurturing personality and genuine love for children, Jessica creates a nurturing environment. Whether she’s comforting a tearful toddler or leading engaging activities, her dedication shines through.

With occasional stints as a group class instructor, Pateyn inspires us all to reach our fitness goals.
